Join the Aquila Crew
Our business growth means opportunity for talented team players.
Although our team has grown largely by referral through tourism industry contacts, we are always interested in hearing from hard-working and fun-loving individuals who have a vision for melding their personal and professional goals with our company’s objectives. Although education and experience are assets, Aquila also hires for attitude and drive – so be creative!
Seasonal Team Members
Aquila’s growth also means that we often require new team members to fill an increasing number of seasonal positions each year, including
- Tour Guides
- Pier-Side Team Members
Each winter, we assess our need for tour guides for the coming season. If you are interested in one of these positions, please send an e-mail to Sam indicating why you would like to be a tour guide and what skills you have that lend themselves to this position. This is casual employment, ideal for retired professionals, and requires a flexible schedule from May to October, excellent communication skills, and a love of people. And while not necessary, fluency in languages other than English is always an asset!
Pier-Side Team Members
With our growing cruise business, Aquila is seeking individuals to work with our pier-side team on cruise ship days. Roles pier-side can vary, and include managing transportation, dispatching tours, communicating with guides, providing information to guests, and handling pier-side tour sales. These positions are part-time, working cruise ship days from May to October. If you are interested in one of these positions, please contact Sam.
Our guide Sherry and driver Mike were amazing. Sherry took a few minutes to find out a little bit about us and created a tour that would suit what we were looking for. I could not believe the amount of ground we covered. We never felt rushed but we saw so much. They were fantastic. So much information. So many beautiful places we were able to see. It was the highlight of our cruise.
My husband and I loved our excursion of Bay of Fundy Whale and Wildlife Watching. Our tour guide was Sue and she was great. Very funny and entertaining as well as answered all questions. Made the tour fun and very enjoyable. Our marine biologist on our boat, Danielle was also fabulous. Extremely informative and love the information she provided while out looking at the different wildlife at the Bay of Fundy.
Colleen Schnibbe Lindsey
Outstanding tour to St. Martins. Fay Neilson, our guide, was tremendous! Chowder is good, scenery is awesome (we saw a moose), local art is enticing. Bring a hand towel to wipe sandy feet, or beach shoes for walking on rocky beach. We had a great time and highly recommend. The bus ride to St. Martins is a major part of this tour, so small, toddler-aged children who might be impatient to move might not find this tour the best option for them. Everyone else will love it!
The Best of Saint John hosted by guide Marilyn was excellent. After several tours with good guides, she stands ahead of them all. Knowledgeable, prepared with photos, books, lobster gadgets, and more, she improved the tour experience. Very good with people and a bonus for the city of Saint John. Highly recommend this tour. It included the right mix and all the important things that a western Canadian wanted to see.
